Start the year right and review book care with this BUNDLE of editable, easy-prep library orientation lessons for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students!

This unit includes 3 printable booklets of read-aloud activities and library lesson plans. When used together, these materials cover the first 4 or 5 classes of each grade level. All items in each product are editable.

After reading one of the books aloud to the class, students check out new books from the library, and then complete the response activity in the booklet.

This lesson bundle has 44 total pages & slides, and includes:

  • Fourteen (14) Read-aloud Activities in three (3) different printable booklets
    • Editable in Microsoft PowerPoint .pptx and Microsoft Publisher .pub file formats
    • Easy-to-print PDF file format included
    • Each booklet is printed double-sided on 2 sheets of 8.5″ x 11″ paper, then folded and stapled to make an 8.5″ x 5.5″ booklet.
    • Each half-page of the printable booklets include a response activity (drawing or short writing) for one of the 14 featured books.
    • The back page of each booklet shows more library- and reading-themed book suggestions to read or check out from the library.
  • Editable Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade Lesson Plan in Microsoft Word .docx file format, aligned to:
    • 2018 AASL National School Library Standards for Learners,
    • National Common Core ELA Standards, and
    • Pennsylvania Core Standards for English Language Arts
