Part 1 is a guided whole-class discussion. The slides walk you through the entire class discussion, from start to finish.

- Explanation of who veterans are, the sacrifices they make, why we celebrate them, and how to say thank you to veterans

29 Scrolling Slides:
Part 2 is the scrolling slides. Set them on a timer to scroll on a screen during library checkout. Students can use the scrolling slides to complete the Scavenger Hunt.

- Photos and information about veteran memorials: Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Vietnam Veterans Memorial/The Wall, Marine Corps War Memorial/Iwo Jima, USS Arizona/Pearl Harbor, and Arlington National Cemetery
- Branches of the United States military and what they do
- Correct spelling of “Veterans Day”
- Who were the Tuskegee Airmen?
- True-or-false slides about women who fought in the Civil War and military of other countries
- Would-you-rather question slides
- Weekly and daily agendas

You will have to record yourself reading the book, or do a live stream of the read-aloud for students to access the book.
