Want to keep your students reading over the summer? Check out this Summer Reading printable challenge bundle, with camp and beach themes! Your students will color one square in the hundreds graph for every 10 minutes they read. They’ll enjoy coloring in a picture as they keep track of their reading minutes with this fun Summer Reading Log. My students loved it!
On the back of this printable, your students will write the titles of the books they read, and a parent will sign the form. When they return to school next fall, they will have read 16 hours, or about 1.5 hours per week for 10 weeks of summer. They can choose whatever they’d like to read and color in the minutes. We all know that CHOICE is a powerful motivator for student reading!
Six different summer fun designs are included with this product, to give students choice about which graph they’d like to complete:
- bear roasting a marshmallow,
- boy and dog in a canoe,
- girl and dog in a tent,
- sea turtle,
- sand castle, and
- beach bird
I hope it helps your students avoid that summer slide!
