Be loud, be proud, and be visible, especially during School Library Month! Jumpstart your advocacy with this action kit that help you create a whole month of online content in the time it takes you to plan a library lesson.

You understand the importance of the school library program in your school. You also know that there is an incredible amount of planning that goes into advocating for your space in a way that doesn’t seem desperate or pushy.

It can feel really overwhelming to stare at the screen to try and figure out where to start planning your School Library Month activities. Say “goodbye” to the overwhelm of planning another monthly theme…and “hello” to simple and smart DIY school library month content you can plan during an actual planning period.

This program kit has 63 slides & pages, and includes:

  • Weekly Themes & Tips so you’ll know exactly what you need to focus on each week on social media, in email, or in person as you share the magic of your school library program.
    • PDF file format, not editable
  • 48 Editable Canva Templates to quickly and easily create social media posts with weekly themes
    • 16 templates for each platform: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • 19 Email Newsletter & Social Media Prompts so you know exactly what you want to share with students, administrators, and your community each week.
    • These prompts to take the guesswork out of what to write!
    • PDF file format, not editable
  • Planning Calendar to map out when to send emails, set up displays, conduct book talks, or post on social media
    • Aligned to each of the weekly themes
    • PDF file format, not editable

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why is it called an “action kit?”
This resource is more than just an eBook, or a set of templates. What you receive truly works as a kit, with information and prompts as well as templates you can edit and apply to your own school library program. It is content that is meant to be actionable and easy to use “right out of the box.”

Do I need a Canva Pro account?
No, in fact everything is designed to be used with the free version of Canva, however I would encourage you to create your free account and then apply for the educator account using your school email address. This will give you all the functionality of a Pro account without the cost!

Is it only for School Library Month (April in the U.S.)? What if I want to use this for general advocacy?
While this kit is specifically designed to be used during School Library Month, many of the ideas and templates could apply all year round and could be used over several months if you choose.
