Why use Reading Bingo Cards in the library? Let’s face it: Many middle school students are reluctant to read across a variety of genres.
This set of 6 library book bingo cards is a gamified reading challenge. It encourages middle school students to try new books, authors, formats, and genres, which can be great for reluctant readers!
This product has 14 total pages, and it includes:
- Two sets of 6 pre-filled Library Reading Bingo cards
- 1 color set – use for demonstration lessons or display on a monitor.
- 1 black and white set – print on colored paper or cardstock.
- 3 formats: Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, and PDF. 100% editable.
- 16 squares per card. 96 different categories across the six cards.
- Includes a wide variety of authors, genres, and book formats for Grades 5-8.
- Detailed instructions with ideas for prizes when students complete a row or a card

How Library Reading Bingo Works:
- Start with the red Library Reading Bingo card. When a student finishes the red card, they “level up” to the next card (orange).
- To complete a card, students select books from any one row (4 books). They can also read from the four corners. This means they have read four books.
- Each Library Reading Bingo card has 11 possible book row options, allowing every card to be differentiated to suit different reading preferences/abilities.
- Students can complete more than one row on the same card if they choose.
- Students get a small prize and/or recognition for completing a row or four corners on their card. Inexpensive and free ideas for prizes are listed in the Reading Bingo card directions.
