Any library card can help you check out books, but these super fantastic library cards do so much more! They are shelf markers and reward punch cards, too! Students earn prizes for being responsible and returning books on time.
When you use these cards, you can easily see students’ first names so you can call them by name. You can also tell at a glance whether or not a student has been checking out books for the past few weeks. When students are rewarded for responsibility, they have more incentive to keep track of their library books. I would not even think about running a school library without these cards!
I explain in detail how I use and organize my library cards in this Library Learners blog post.
In this product, you’ll get the printable library cards, PLUS step-by-step instructions on how I use these cards to help my library run more smoothly all year long! I include both the longer cards that are useful as shelf markers and smaller cards that can fit in a pocket chart. You can choose, or use different sizes for different grades.
