First Day Library Activities for Kindergarten

Print, digital, and unplugged activities that give kindergarten students a glimpse of what to look forward to in library class.

On the first day of library class, kindergarteners will excitedly set goals for their upcoming year. They’ll learn different types of books they can find in the library and different types of activities they can look forward to. They’ll also learn how to sit and listen to a story, and transition from a story to independent work.

This lesson has 36 total pages & slides, and includes:

  • Text is editable in Google Slides “theme builder,” Seesaw activity is also included.
• Standards Based lesson that teaches young children what to expect and look forward to in the library, aligned to:

• Directions to help you prepare and set up the lesson with printable or digital activities (5 pages)
